  • 48" Rotor Disk Diameter, less than 26" long! Weighs in at less than 2 lb., keeping the Disc Loading less than 3oz/ft.sq.!
    4-channel operation; no mixing needed.  Outrunner electric power (recommended motor size listed below)
  • Comfortable flying at the park or local flying field.  Remarkably wide flight envelope. It has proven incredibly stable for the first-time gyro flyer (won’t bite) and mildly aerobatic for the experienced gyro pilot looking for something a bit less tame. (Still won’t bite hard.)
  • Kit uses a simple, internal structure design of laser cut balsa and ply with laser slots and tabs ensuring accurate assembly. When constructed, this structure holds motor, controller, LiPoly pak, receiver and servos. The smooth, outer body of the "Soda Pup-E" is composed of 2-liter pop bottles! This outside "shell" is interchangeable, allowing many painted and decorated pop bottle "bodies" to exchange for a variety of color & markings without the expense of building a completely new model.
  • Included in all kits is a rolled, laser-plotted plan sheet and for those having already built an AUTOGYRO COMPANY of ARIZONA design, the notable high-quality, detailed construction/flying manual contains numerous construction photos making building this kit a "walk in the doggie park." As usual, over a third of the manual is devoted to the basics of autorotational flight and includes proven flight instruction.  The kit is offered three ways:
  1. "Bare Bones": basic laser kit; all wood parts, blades, rotor bearing, limited hardware.....$169.
  2. "Bare Bones with Kibbles": basic "bare bones" laser kit with all finishing hardware....... $199.
  3. "Bare Bones with Kibbles & Bits": "Kibbles" kit with outrunner motor/controller/prop:

    We stock Hacker and Cermark outrunner motor/controller combos for the "Soda Pup-E". We also carry LiPoly battery paks in many configurations to power our electric kits.  Add any of the following items to your kit for a complete package:

*  HACKER "A20-12XL"; X30 ESC; Prop Adapter and "X"-Mount; includes APC 10x5E Prop......$129.
* CERMARK
"2820-1200"; 30BL ESC, Prop Adapter and "X" mount; incl. APC 10x5E Prop. .....$119.
* CERMARK
2100mAh, 11.1V, 15C, 3-cell Lithium Polymer Battery Pak..............................$ 65.

 (Click Image for In-Flight View)

  • This sport scale kit can be built replicating the "YG-1B" military version (photo on left) or as two civilian models ("KD-1A" or KD-1B")  The smooth lines and nostalgic look of this 1930’s-era Kellett Autogyro Kit is certain to attract both scale and sport autogyro enthusiasts alike, taking us all back in time to the "Golden Age"of aviation.
  • This is by far the largest model autogyro kit ever produced! The rotor disk spans 74 inches spawning an enormous 4,300+ square inches of disk area producing a very light disk loading of less then 4.5 oz/sq. ft! Designed for .61 2-stroke or .91 4-stroke engines and simple 4-channel operation, this laser cut sport scale kit is remarkably simple to construct with absolutely no machining required and no fancy mixing or computer radios needed. All simple rotor head parts are included.  Blades are airfoil shaped and laser cut. Both "Standard" and "Deluxe" kits are offered.
    1. "Standard" Kit:  Contains all Kit Parts, Blades, Rotor Bearing, Flap Hinging,
        Pre-Bent Landing Gear, Some Hardware.............................................
      $259.
    2. "Deluxe" Kit:  "Standard" Kit Plus...All Finishing Hardware (All Nuts, Bolts,
        Screws, Clevises, Pushrods, Fuel Tank, Engine Mount Wheels, etc!)....

1935, Pitcairn "Cabin" Kit

Img47.png
(From Right Front to Left Rear: 2-sroke Fuel, 4-stroke Fuel, Brushless Electric!)
(Click Image for Larger View)

     In 1932, Harold Pitcairn and company (Autogyro Company of America), began design work on their first direct control autogyro: the PA-22 "Cabin". Initially, this side-by-side two-seater cabin design was meant to be "roadable" allowing the autogyro to be driven on public roads as a surface vehicle.  At the point of takeoff, the rotors were unfolded from over the tail and power restored to the propeller for flight! This proved to be more complex than practical.  The ninth variant of the PA-22 "Cabin" is the one chosen for this kit. It sported a neatly cowled 90-hp Pobjoy engine and an attractive horizontal stab with upturned tips. This variant was used for experimentation with prerotation and recorded the first jump takeoff of any aircraft in the United States, November 9, 1935!
  • This sport scale model (in 1 - 5.6 scale) is greatly simplified for construction and flight but looses none of the aesthetic appeal of the full size "Cabin". Elastomeric flapping blade hinging replaces complicated mechanical hinges and lateral tilt is applied to the rotor head for effective roll control.  Simple airplane-type elevator controls pitch; rudder for yaw; throttle for thrust.
  • The "Cabin" sports a Rotor Diameter of 48”; Length: 34”; Weight: 60-80 oz.  Disk Loading: 4.77-6.37oz./sq.ft. Recommended Engine sizes = Fuel:.25 "FX-type" 2-Stroke, .40 4-Stroke; Electric: Brushless
    Radio: 4-Channel (no computer mixing necessary!)
Choice of 3 Versions:
  1. "Standard" Kit for both Fuel and Electric:  Contains all Kit Parts, Blades,
                 Rotor Bearing, Pre-Bent Landing Gear, Some Hardware............$199.
  2. "Deluxe Electric" Kit:  "Standard" Kit Plus...Includes Finishing Hardware
                 (All Nuts, Bolts, Clevises, Pushrods, Wheels, Collars!)..............
    $249
    .
  3. "Deluxe Fuel" Kit: "Standard" Kit Plus...Includes Finishing Hardware
                 (Wheels, Collars, Engine Mount, Fuel Tank, Fuel Tubing, etc!)...
    $259.

 "2-D" Quick-Build Profile Kit

Img6.jpg
(Click Image for Larger View)

  • This laser-cut kit is a “Silhouette Scale” replica of the 1935 Pitcairn "Cabin" Autogyro. The profile design "keeps it simple" for quick construction yet produces a great-flying autogyro kit suitable for experienced gyro pilots.  With the specially designed pre-bent "adjustable attitude" landing gear, the “2-D” taxies out and takes off from the ground with such ease it’s astounding! With a few mph headwind, the rotors will spin up quickly without a pre-rotation device!  Complete Flying Instructions included in the fully Illustrated Construction Manual.
  • With a large  54” Rotor Diameter and finished "profile" weight of only 56 oz., the Disk Loading is projected at a ridiculously "floaty" 3.52 oz./sq. ft!  The "2-D" is 42" in length and uses a simple 4-channel "sport" radio (no computer radio or mixing needed; standard servos just fine!)  With a recommended "sport" .40 2-stroke or .52-.56 4-stroke, the "2-D" putt-putts along at half throttle in slow cruise with a perky, full-throttle positive "G" aerobatic capability!
    1. "Standard" Kit (Includes rotor bearing, blades; some hardware): ... $139.
    2. "Deluxe" Kit (All Hardware; Wheels, Fuel Tank, Pushrods, etc.): .. $179.
